I was once a landscape painter.  I enjoyed the challenge of painting trees, rocks, water and atmosphere.  But I'd always secretly harbored a love for mid century paintings: DeKooning, Diebenkorn, Matisse.  Something about that slippery paint and those passages that would be downright ugly in another context... drool. A while back, when my daughter was born something went kablooey in my head (any artist-parent can understand) and I hit a creative rut.  After a few months of digging my toe in the dirt, I broke out the paints, and a new creative chapter began.  This is the result.
